As you pass through the entry gate of Andheshwar Mahadev Temple, you are welcomed by a symphony unlike any other—Sounds of Eternity. This interactive installation is more than just an artistic marvel; it is a prayer, and a bridge between the physical and the divine.
At its heart, the installation features 49 bells—48 smaller bells and one grand bell, all connected to a prayer wheel. As the wheel turns, these bells chime together, producing a rhythmic Sargam that fills the air with a sense of purity and transcendence.

The Power of Sound in Devotion
The Meaning of Ghanta Naad – The Sacred Bell Ringing
Ringing the temple bell, known as Ghanta Naad, is an ancient ritual deeply rooted in Hindu tradition. The verse below captures its essence:
“आगमार्थं तु देवानां गमनार्थं तु रक्षसाम्।
घण्टारवं करोम्यादौ देवताह्वान लाञ्छनम्॥”
Translation: I call forth the gods and goddesses by ringing this bell. I wish to dispel negative energies so that divine and noble forces may enter.
Each chime carries a spiritual significance—it removes distractions, purifies the mind, and signals the presence of the divine. The reverberation lasts at least seven seconds, symbolizing the eternal cycle of time (Kaal). This sound awakens the soul, clears negative vibrations, and invites higher consciousness into the space.

Artistry That Breathes Spirituality
The Sounds of Eternity installation is the creation of Anuj Anjaria, a visionary sculptor known for seamlessly integrating kinetic architecture into his works. Every element—from the precisely tuned bells to the movement of the prayer wheel—has been designed to create a transformative experience that bridges the tangible and the transcendental.
The temple bell is intentionally placed at the dome’s center, directly before the deity’s idol. When struck, its vibration travels through the subtle body, stimulating the Anahata Chakra (Heart Chakra). This activation is believed to align the devotee’s energy with universal consciousness, fostering an inner connection with the divine.
The Five Metals – A Cosmic Connection
In Vedic astrology, temple bells are traditionally crafted from a blend of five metals—Gold, Silver, Copper, Zinc, and Iron. These metals correspond to the five planets and are said to channel cosmic energy into the surroundings, creating an atmosphere of spiritual balance and positive vibrations.
An Invitation to Listen and Connect
Sounds of Eternity is not just something to hear—it’s something to experience. The ringing of these bells is an offering, a purification, and a connection to the energies that surround us. Whether you turn the prayer wheel, listen to the resonating chimes, or simply pause in quiet reflection, you become part of an age-old tradition that bridges the human and the divine.
Come, let the echoes of devotion guide your spirit.
Let the Sounds of Eternity awaken something deep within you.
